Now that you have everything you need to roll a joint the Marley Natural way, you can get started by preparing the herbs you are going to roll. Open your grinder and add small bud pieces into the teeth of the grinder. Once filled up, put the top on and spin the grinder back and forth to mill the herbs. The more you grind, the more volume will be produced in your milled blend.
If you plan on adding other herbs to your blend, such as hemp or tobacco, you should add them with the cannabis that you are grinding so all the herbs are evenly blended together.
If you are wondering how much cannabis to roll in a joint, between a half gram to a full gram in weight will work well for 1.25-inch papers. Bigger papers will need more. Once you have all the herbs you need ground together, you will need the paper or wrap you chose.

Add the filter to one end of the paper, holding it with your dominant hand. Fill the rest of the paper with the milled herbs until full. Roll the paper back and forth to shape the milled herbs into a tube. Use medium pressure, enough so that the herbs aren't loose and will fall out.
Once the joint is of the desired thickness and shaped into a tube, roll the bottom of the paper over the front and then top of the tube-shaped cannabis.
Tuck the end of the paper inside itself and continue to roll the paper around itself until just before you reach the glue strip.
Lightly wet the glue strip with your tongue. Be careful you don’t lick the glue off. Just a bit of moisture is needed. Roll the joint over the glue strip until it attaches to the paper below it. Carefully rub over the glue strip to ensure it seals.

Once the glue on the paper has sealed to the paper, you can take care of the ends of the joint. This is what will make your joint a better smoke. Gently push the filter in the paper a bit more, packing the end while leaving the tip sticking out of the paper.
On the open end, you can take a pencil or the end of scissors to pack the cannabis further into the joint. Optionally, you can lightly tap the filter on a surface to further pack down the cannabis toward the filter. The better the joint is packed, the slower it will burn.
If there is excess paper on the open end, it can be twisted up to keep the cannabis inside until lighting. It also acts as a wick when lighting to slowly bring in the fire to the herbs inside the joint.

What is the best kind of cannabis to roll in a joint?
The best cannabis to roll in a joint is well cured, meaning it's not too dry or moist. Ideally, the buds are fluffy and soft, resulting in the easiest grind. Harder, more dense nugs might needs to be milled twice.
If you find the herb is too dry and crumbles apart when you grind it, then add a soak stone or humidity pack to the container to give the buds some more moisture.
If the bud is too dry, it will burn very fast. If it is too moist, it might not burn at all. It will certainly produce a lot of resin, potentially making it a sticky mess as well.

How much cannabis, or other milled herbs, you roll into a joint depends on the size of the paper and how many people will share it. Typically joints are rolled with anywhere between half of a gram of milled herbs, up to a full gram in the 1.25-inch papers. Bigger wraps like hemp leaf or tobacco leaf wraps will be able to hold a lot more volume of milled herbs. Bigger groups of people will probably require a bigger joint as well.
How is the cannabis to be rolled prepared?
By using a grinder, the herbs that will be rolled in the joint will be milled into a consistency that makes them light and fluffy, capturing the necessary air in the blend to help the air move through the joint as it is being smoked.
