Martha Stewart Wine Co. and the Humane Society of the United States partnered for a virtual wine tasting event, featuring carefully selected vintages while highlighting the Humane Society of the United States’ animal rescue and response work. The virtual gathering was led by the ultimate lifestyle expert, Martha Stewart. Ferdinando Mucerino, one of the world’s top vegan wine sommeliers, with special guest Kitty Block, president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States, were also on hand for the festivities.

“What an honor to spend an evening with the always informative, insightful and elegant Martha Stewart,” said Block.

Martha has decorated, stitched and sewn her way into so many lives as a trailblazer for women, an accomplished business pioneer and the authority on dinner party décor. She’s also a passionate animal advocate, devoted pet owner, has her own Pet CBD line and, of course, has excellent taste in wine!

“I was delighted to host a virtual wine tasting event in partnership with Martha Stewart Wine Co. and the Humane Society of the United States. During these distanced times, it was a pleasure to connect with attendees across the country from the comfort of their own homes,” said Martha Stewart. “

A Taste of Rescue was fun and informative, as well as raised vital funds to support the organization’s work to protect animals.”

Martha Stewart led an informative discussion on wine selection, as well as provided entertaining and serving tips for every occasion with the help of Ferdinando Mucerino and Kitty Block. Following the tasting portion, Block, Stewart and Mucerino led a spirited question and answer session with attendees.

"As a vegan sommelier, I couldn’t be more delighted to be involved in this event with the Humane Society of the United States and to introduce our guests to the three featured bottles we chose for the tasting,” said Mucerino, resident sommelier at Martha Stewart Wine Co.

Each of the wines - two reds and one white - are thoughtfully grown, give reverence to their terroir and will make fantastic additions to any dinner table.

Donations made during the wine tasting and after the tasting will support the work of the Humane Society of the United States Animal Rescue and Response team. This team responds to cruelty cases and when disaster strikes around the world. The team’s veterinarians and field responders deploy and collaborate with local, regional, national and international organizations in providing rescue, relief and evacuation for animals. They also partner with local groups and governments to facilitate future disaster preparedness and planning that accommodates animals in affected communities.

The virtual event was sponsored by Bissell Pet Foundation & Martha Stewart CBD.
